Mason, Cruz and More: What Santa Barbara’s Leading Handsome Men Look Like Now

The series “Santa Barbara” went down in history as the longest ever broadcast in Russia. It was the first “soap” on our screens after the collapse of the USSR. Although the cast changed often and a character ended up being played by three or even four performers, we offer to remember those we particularly remember. How do they live and what do they look like now? We tell and show.

For many, Santa Barbara was the pinnacle of their career.

Lane Davis (Mason Capwell), 72 years old

Lane Davis is best known for playing Mason Capwell, the eldest son of oil tycoon CC Capwell. This character was especially sympathetic to the audience, because there was something to sympathize with: unhappy love, memory loss, coma and even a split personality – the writers of the series were as creative as possible.

The actor left the series in 1989, but continued to actively star in other television projects. Among his famous works are roles in the series “The Third Planet from the Sun” and “Clinic”.

The actor is married and has two sons. Today, Lane works more as a theater director and actor and directs the Tennessee Shakespeare Festival.

John Allen Nelson (Warren Lockridge), 63

In the series, the actor played a representative of another rich Lockridge clan, rival of the Capwells. He got the role of aspiring journalist Warren Lockridge. The blonde with gray eyes and a broad American smile naturally charmed the young viewers of the series right away. John was the first to play the role of Warren and was filmed from 1984 to 1986.

After that, he continued his career in such popular series as “CSI: Miami Crime Scene Investigation”, “Baywatch”, “Quantum Leap”, “Friends” – however, he played episodic roles in each of them.

The actor was married twice, from his first marriage he has two children. In recent years, Nelson has not been filmed.

Hey Martinez (Cruz Castillo), 74

One of the show’s most colorful characters is the poor but brave and honest cop Cruz Castillo, played by Ey Martinez. The public especially remembered his love story with Eden Capwell. “Princess” and “beggar” quickly became the main couple of the series and resonated with viewers.

Although at the time of the release of “Santa Barbara” Martinez had been shooting for more than 10 years, it was this series that became a real breakthrough for him. Cruise’s role brought him worldwide fame and an Emmy Award in 1990. The actor left Santa Barbara in 1992.

The actor still appears today in TV shows, for example, he can be seen in small roles in Criminal Minds and Castle. Martinez has been married twice. But if the first marriage quickly broke up, the actor has been with his second wife Leslie Bryans for more than forty years. They had three children: a son and two daughters.
