Leggings and “chemistry”: what Lada Dance looked like before becoming a star

Although Lada Dance has been involved in music since childhood and always dreamed of a stage, at the beginning of her career, like many aspiring singers, she had to be content with rather lowly jobs – for example, singing in restaurants.

At least some prospects opened up for Lada in 1988, when she took part in the pop song festival in Jurmala. The singer did not win any awards, but she made useful contacts, and it quickly paid off. Among Lada’s new friends were singers Alina Vitebskaya and Svetlana Lazareva. Vitebskaya’s husband came up with the idea of ​​​​creating a women’s group – this is how the trio “Council of Women” appeared.

The team performed songs on various acute social and current topics of the end of the perestroika era – from queues to shortages (for example, among the hits were the songs “No container” and ” Give the people beer”).

However, this “Pravdorubsky” fuse was not enough for a long time – against the background of world changes, the repertoire ceased to be relevant and interesting, and stronger competitors, in particular the Combination group, captured the stage. In 1990, the team separated.

But over the two years of its existence, the trio has been remembered for its vivid imagery. The participants played with Soviet symbols – they wore fighters’ armbands and posed with banners, but, of course, they did not forget about fashion trends, which, as you know, were very ruthless in the late 1980s. So without a garland of pearls, “chemistry” on the head and shiny leggings, things could not be done.

In the 1990s, Lada, who had already started a solo career, radically revised his stage image. The singer began to copy the images of models (the public repeatedly noted her resemblance to Linda Evangelista), wearing leather, corsets and microshorts. Thus, the singer quickly became one of the main sex symbols of the time – the one we all remember.
