15 Minutes of Fame and Death: How Outrageous Reality TV Heroes Died

On August 20, 2023, the media published sad news: the ex-participant of the show “Tomboys” Yulia Mikhailova died. The girl fell from the 22nd floor of a high-rise building in Ryazan and died before the ambulance arrived.

Julia took part in the seventh season of the sensational TV project and remembered the scandalous incident. Julia was kicked out of filming after it turned out that she made up her biography under difficult life circumstances. Mikhailova said she worked as an escort and had been abused, but after failing the lie detector she admitted she made it all up to get on TV and become famous.

Investigators are now trying to reconstruct the last hours of the girl’s life according to fragmentary testimonies. Mikhailova’s “colleague” on the show, Kira Medvedeva, noted that her death could have been an accident – Yulia loved heights, often walked on rooftops and took extreme photos. Another participant of the show, Diana Yangolenko, added that alcohol, which Mikhailova abused, could also play a fatal role.

But another member of The Boys, Kristina Zakharova, claimed that before her death, Yulia had a strong argument with her friend and even fought with her. In the last hours of her life, Mikhailova also sent a message to another friend in which she wrote: “I am tired”. This seemed strange to many, because in July Julia explained that she wanted to start from scratch.

The circumstances of the death of the former reality TV star are yet to be established.

Politova came three times to the country’s main television channel. Each time, it did not stay there long, but it marked the memory of both the participants and the public. And all thanks to her “strange” behavior: Maria could throw a tantrum, fall into a “musical trance” and clash with the other participants. Her boyfriend then hinted at Maria’s mental issues. At the same time, those who still managed to find a common language with her later warmly remembered her and called her a bright and unique person.

Politova never built a relationship on the project, but she found love outside the perimeter. His chosen one was a journalist named Artem. He also reported the girl missing in December 2017. Her body, covered in snow, was finally found a few weeks later at her grandfather’s country house in the Shchelkovsky district. Drugs and alcohol were found in Masha’s blood. The examination showed that the cause of death was liver failure due to a sharp increase in pressure.

Sergei became famous by participating in the first season of the show “The Last Hero”, hosted by Sergei Bodrov, Jr. Sakin did not become a winner, but left the set with his “prize” – the man found his love on the project. Anna Modestova became her chosen one (it is worth noting that the woman was on the team of competitors), after the completion of the project they got married and they had two children. However, family life broke up – according to some reports, the wife could not stand Sakin’s passion for alcohol and filed for divorce.

After that, the ex-participant of the show remarried, and at the end of November 2017 he disappeared on the way from Myshkin to Moscow. The man was last seen on the pier by the Volga. Not far from this place, it was discovered in May 2018. Such a long search is explained by the fact that the body quickly became covered with snow. Sakin’s personal effects were not touched, so the criminal police lead was ruled out. The exact date of death could not be established, but hypothermia was the cause, probably due to alcohol poisoning.
