Brazilian singer competes with ‘Funk Rave’ for best Latin music video against Colombian singer ‘TQG’ and ‘Acrostic’

Singer Anitta commented on what it’s like to compete in the same category as Shakira MTV Video Music Awards, which will take place this Tuesday the 12th in New Jersey, United States.

In an interview with MTVthe Brazilian says she is happy with the space Latinos are receiving at the awards, and that she thinks Shakira “deserves much more” than the honor she will receive tonight.

“It’s wonderful for all Latinos. It’s great to be Latino, to show our culture. We will dominate the world. Shakira deserves so much more,” he said.

Shakira will be the first South American to receive the Video Vanguard Award, from which she takes her name Michael Jackson. The presentation will be led by Nicki Minaj.

Anita competes in the Best Latin Video category for FunkRave. In the latest edition she became the first Brazilian to sing on the awards stage, as well as winning for best Latin music Involve. The singer performs together with the K-pop group TXT, or Tomorrow X Together, to sing the song Back for More, as well as performing alone.
