Presenter Ratinho will be sued by the 27th Civil Court of São Paulo in a trial seeking compensation for moral damages of R$500,000 due to homophobia. Driven by activist Agripino Magalhães Júnior, who fights for the LGBT+ cause and is an alternate state deputy in the São Paulo legislature, the action builds on the STF’s 2019 decision that began equating homophobia with racism under the terms of the law.
A retraction by the program host, use of an electronic ankle monitor, and other protective measures are also required.
Judge Fernanda Jacó Monteiro ordered a court official to search for the owner of the “Ratinho Program” and, if necessary, to leave the summons with the person responsible for entering the house or condominium where he lives.

Agripino and his lawyer sued the São Paulo MP in June, when Ratinho stated on his SBT program that the LGBT+ Pride parade, held that month, should not have taken place on Avenida Paulista, as the place should have been reserved for families, indicating that the Anhembi Sambódromo would be more suitable for the “Carnival of fagots and dams”.
“You go to the sambodromo, you undress there, do what you want. Leave Paulista Avenue for families, who want to go there and play with children. There is a ‘Gay Parade’ there at the hell of the sambodromo, where you can do whatever you want. In my opinion the ‘Gay Parade’ is the Carnival of ‘faggots’ and ‘awls'”, said the presenter.
After learning of Agripino’s action, Ratinho, again on air on SBT, called the activist “slutty, slutty and shameless”, as well as suggesting that he would have a “race sheet”: “I’m going to fight, I’ll finish in trouble”
