At 47, Fernando Scherer, the Xuxa, is preparing to become the grandfather of twins. He told how his reaction was when he learned of the pregnancy of his eldest daughter, chef Isabella Scherer, 26.

“I had the biggest scare, but we soon started celebrating. Afterward, we even joked, ‘They’ll be twins.’ But it was really cool at the time,” she told the magazine. GQ Brazil.

“I don’t think even he knew he would love to be a grandfather that much,” joked Isa, who added that the pregnancy wasn’t planned, but it came at a good time.

“I wanted to be a mother in a few years. I always really wanted to be a mother. Mainly I was very curious that I was pregnant, that I was really pregnant. I think in the end I would never feel 100% ready to be pregnant. A mother.”

“The feeling of having two people growing inside of me is very strong and very emotional,” he adds. Isabella will be the mother of a boy and a girl, who are expected to be born between August and September of this year.

Xuxa said he knew he would be a grandfather soon, as he was a father at 21, which is why he had a rule: “I’ll ask you to call me uncle, grandfather.” However, at the time, the reaction was different. “I was, wow, I want to be [chamado de] Not no.”
