Ex Jovem Pan associates Karol Eller’s death with the ‘gay cure’: “It makes depression worse”

Equally right-wing homosexual, the presenter Tiago Pavinatto had contact with the influencer shortly before his tragic end

In social media posts, former Jovem Pan News host Tiago Pavinatto lamented the death of Bolsonaro influencer Karol Eller, 36.

“I know many will throw stones at me for what I will say. But it is as a convinced homosexual and, at the same time, enthusiastic about Christianity and a profound connoisseur of the good that Christian work has left as a legacy to humanity that I must say: Karol Eller’s suicide was the result of his entry into a trial of sexual reorientation,” wrote the journalist and also a lawyer.

The influencer famous for supporting Jair Bolsonaro and representing right-wing lesbians was found dead after falling from the 5th floor of the building where she lived in the Campo Belo neighborhood of Sao Paulo. Before the fall, she made a few posts. “I lost the war,” she said. “Forgive me for causing all this pain to those who love me! Take care of yourself here. I tried.” A frequenter of an evangelical church, Karol underwent a trial to supposedly stop being LGBT.

In his program ‘Os Tremas nos Us’, on YouTube, Tiago Pavinatto strengthened his criticism of the pseudotherapy of sexual reorientation popularly called the ‘gay cure’.

“For someone suffering from depression, it’s like a doctor who has an antibiotic that treats him, knowing that the person has an allergy, gives him this medicine knowing that it can kill him. My criticism is of the irresponsibility, the inhumanity, the cruelty of those who offer a therapy whose only known result is the worsening of depression for the depressed,” she said.

Pavinatto revealed that he noticed Eller’s emotional fragility when he spoke to her recently. “To many: I spoke to Karol last week. She cried as she said she couldn’t repress her desire for women. Of course: sexual reorientation therapies are mental torture sessions. In 90% of cases they lead to suicidal ideation. In 100% of cases they make depression worse,” he posted on X.

In another message on the internet, the communicator launched an appeal. “Don’t mix politics with religion. Anyone who does this is a fanatic (a weak Hamas) and not a conservative,” he wrote. Pavinatto defended the encouragement of life. “Those who are religious know it: suicide does not bring peace.”

The journalist turned to a well-known apostle to demonstrate that the “gay cure” doesn’t even exist in the Bible. “Paul of Tarsus shows that the only correct path is chastity. Nowhere does it say reorientation. Also because, if this were possible, Jesus would have reoriented the homosexuals of his time. Or not?”

The Federal Council of Psychology, with Resolution no. 01/1999, prohibits psychologists from considering homosexuality as an illness and from applying any type of sexual reorientation therapy. In 1991 the World Health Organization (WHO) excluded homosexuality from the classification of diseases. Science understands it as sexual orientation, which is independent of the will of the individual, and not as a sexual option.

In case of emotional distress, such as suicidal thoughts, the person can call 188, the CVV (Life Enhancement Centre) number for free. Trained volunteers are available 24 hours a day to listen and advise. It is recommended that you consult a mental health professional, such as a psychologist, psychiatrist, and psychoanalyst, to treat the symptoms and causes.
