Valentina Ferraz Cohen, daughter of actress Carolina Ferraz and CEO of Cimples, said the long-awaited “yes” to American businessman Samraan Husain after a seven-year relationship. The romance led to a wedding at a celebration held in Malibu, California.

The marriage proposal is also romantic. According to the businesswoman, it happened during a car trip from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara, California, in October 2022. Valentina, now 28, met her boyfriend, Samraan, through a friend during college.

“On my first day at school I met her sister and we became great friends. A year later we met and our friendship became stronger,” she said in an interview with Vogue Brasil. Valentina graduated in Econometrics and Quantitative Mathematics with International Relations from Northeastern University in Boston.

The marriage proposal took place during a romantic walk by the sea, and although Valentina had some suspicions after seven years of dating, the magical moment still surprised her.

The spouses opted for an intimate celebration, reserved for 20 guests, which took place last Wednesday, the 11th, after the civil ceremony. The location chosen was the famous Japanese restaurant Nobu, located on the beach in Malibu.

“Being near the ocean brings a very powerful and renewing energy, so I thought it would be a wonderful place to celebrate my wedding. We would have liked to do this ritual soon, but there are still many possibilities for us to have a party there ‘next year,’ he told Vogue Brasil.

Valentina is the daughter of Carolina Ferraz and has an Italian father. Her new husband, Samraan, was born in the United States, raised in Africa and has Taiwanese and Indian roots. For her, the experience was enriching in many ways.

“It introduced me to cultures, foods and familiarized me with things I never thought I would be comfortable with. My wedding is a mix of many things. There are many Brazilian traditions I would like to preserve, but part of the family of my fiancé follows Indian traditions. Indian weddings are beautiful, with a really amazing culture around the wedding. Taiwanese also have specific traditions and a way of getting married. I never imagined anything very specific, other than finding love of my life, so we had a lot of freedom to do everything our way.”

Wedding dress

Valentina wore a wedding dress by Brazilian designer Wanda Borges, suggested by her mother. The designer and the Ferraz family have a long-standing friendship, as they are all from Goiânia.

Carolina Ferraz, actress, presenter and entrepreneur, expressed her happiness at her daughter’s wedding.

“I am a happy mother-in-law. I have a dear son-in-law, who I see likes my daughter very much, respects her and wants to make her happy. It is a special moment and I am very excited, because he is getting married to someone he loves and has chosen me to be the person who is here in the background cheering and sending so much good energy to the bride and groom,” the mother said. “Valentina is a great friend of mine, a companion. We are together for life.”

As CEO of Cimples, Valentina plans to reside in California until the end of the year, where she will also spend her honeymoon, with no destination yet defined. She shares, “We have a very special move planned for the beginning of the year,” she revealed in the interview.
