Amaury Jr. Reveals Shocking Illness: ‘Praying’

Amauri Jr. participated in the PODCAST KIDSand there, he recalled one of the most difficult moments he experienced in his life: when he was diagnosed with depression.

“Everyone thinks it’s nice to say they suffer from depression, I already had a serious one. It was an issue from 10 years ago, which mobilized me. I didn’t want to leave the house anymore, I didn’t care about anything else. My wife she took care of me a lot and then the doctor here, the doctor took care of there. It’s finally over!”, said the 73-year-old presenter.

“I don’t know why, because I had nothing to be depressed about, I had no triggers”he recalled.

“Now depression for me is an animal and I am the tamer. We always have depressive symptoms, it is not sadness for a death or for a lost person”the journalist reported.

“I know a lot more today than when I had my first depression, but you have to be very careful, because it picks up easily. I think I’ve mastered it”he underlined.

Amaury also revealed how he managed to hide symptoms of depression while working.

“I published a cookbook that was totally depressive, I was left with a smile that I don’t know where I got. Depressed people know how to pretend very well. I can pretend to be happy here with you and be deeply depressed. But I went there [lançamento]I kept praying for it to end.”he concluded.
