The artist Lolita Rodrigueswho passed away in the early hours of this Sunday the 5th, shone on television with her first protagonist in the soap opera The hunchback of Notre Dame, in 1957, on the now defunct TV Tupi. He was 28 years old at the time. Subsequently he played several television roles, but It wasn’t until she was almost 60 that the actress had her first “technical kiss”.

The decision not to kiss on TV was influenced by her then husband, the late actor Aírton Rodrigues, who did not accept her kissing other actors on television.

According to the website Whoin her biography, Lolita said that although she decided not to stage kisses on TV, this did not harm her career, since, at the time, soap operas were more naive and did not include displays of affection such as the kisses.

Lolita Rodrigues died in the early hours of this Sunday, in João Pessoa, Paraíba, at the age of 94. The actress, who was one of the pioneers of Brazilian television, was admitted to the Nossa Senhora das Neves hospital, being treated for pneumonia.

Sylvia Gonçalves Rodrigues Leite, known as Lolita Rodrigues, has had a career marked by great successes, such as in the soap opera Sassaricando AND Our land. Her last TV job was playing Noêmia, the grandmother of one of the film’s central characters Live the life (2009).
