Isa Scherer became the subject of criticism after announcing a job opening at her candy store, Scherbi’s, in Sao Paulo. The post that went viral on social media seeks a kitchen assistant for a salary of R$ 1,800.

Already deleted from the property’s LinkedIN profile, the vacancy required someone to organize and prepare ingredients as directed, prepare recipes, maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, check and replenish supplies, wash and organize utensils and equipment, follow food hygiene and safety standards, and finally perform other kitchen-related duties.

The number of tasks attracted the attention of users: “Did the kitchen assistant do this art?” one Internet user joked in the candy shop’s post. “Learn to value the work of others!”, another profile complained

The announced working hours from 2pm to 10pm also attracted the attention of critics, with requests for flexible hours and availability to work on weekends and public holidays.

Internet users also compared the salary of the assistant chef to the price of biscuits at Isa Scherer’s restaurant: “It’s ridiculous that you sell these biscuits at absurd prices and pay 1,800 reals to the employees”, underlines a follower.

On the sweet shop’s digital menu, the cheapest biscuits cost R$21.50. Desserts are the main attraction of the place.
