Remember the shocking divorce between Princess Diana and King Charles III

Diana Spencer and Charles Philip Arthur George married in 1981, becoming Princess Diana and the Prince of Wales. The marriage, which officially lasted 15 years, gave birth to Princes William and Harry and was surrounded by controversy. So, remember the messy royal divorce.

In 1994, Charles revealed his infidelity on prime time English TV. The prince, in fact, had a relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles – his current wife – and other women. “There were three people at the wedding, so it was a little crowded,” Lady Di revealed in an interview.

At the time, Diana also revealed that she was having an affair with cavalry officer James Hewitt. However, the couple was already separated but had not made the divorce official. The official separation, in fact, occurred only 4 years later.

The event was one of the biggest scandals involving the British crown. This is because, in addition to the betrayals, Prince Charles revealed in an interview, before the separation, that he never loved his wife. Furthermore, Diana was acclaimed by the population, as she was known as “the people’s princess”.
