How late motherhood changed the life of Ryan Gosling’s wife, Eva Mendes

Sensual beauty Eva Mendes had no plans to become a mother at all until she met Ryan Gosling (we totally understand her!). The actress gave birth to the eldest daughter at 40, the youngest at 42, and she herself became a completely different person.

Today, Eva Mendes is 48 years old and the father of her two daughters, Ryan Gosling, is 41. The family has changed them both: from sex symbols, the actors have become ideal family men.

The Sacred Motors Inc star called parenthood “the most creative thing” she’s ever been involved in.

“I’m an actress, I’ve designed clothes, I’ve done different things. But life with kids is like nothing,” she says of her daughters Esmeralda Amada, 7, and Amada Lee, 6.

Mendes took a break from her career at the top of her game – at the time of her first pregnancy she was a superstar. But she decided not to compromise and devote herself entirely to motherhood.

“It seems to me that now I have returned to my childhood,” she explains. “My mother was always by my side until I was 9 years old and the years spent with her shaped me as a person.”

Eva is sure that she is very lucky not to be able to work and be with her daughters. She says she is “obsessed with children and motherhood”.

Which is more important – kids or career?

However, Ryan Gosling is attracting attention. Sometimes Eva will even shoot with him so that she and her husband can be together as a couple and remember that they are not just parents. Parting with girls is always dramatic – after all, actors’ children!

Mendes admits she’s not exactly missing out on acting, but that doesn’t mean she’s completely ruling herself out of returning to the screen.

“I think that might be fun. But the list of what I’m ready to play in has become so short! I no longer want to participate in films with scenes of violence and sex. There’s not much left,” Mendez laughs.
