“Every day is a small victory,” says Guta Stresser of multiple sclerosis

Guta Stresser, the child of The large family, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. In a press release to the magazine Appearancehe told how the process was until the discovery of the disease.

According to the actress, the first symptoms appeared in 2020, when she participated in the Famous danceto the domingão Faustão. “It all seemed normal until, in rehearsal, I went through the choreography and, when I finished, I couldn’t remember anything else, absolutely nothing,” she recalled.

He said he did not understand the reason for these memory failures, as he always found it easy to memorize texts due to his profession. “With difficulty, however, I managed to advance in the competition and I no longer paid much attention to those mistakes.”

However, the situation was getting worse. “I started to forget very simple words, like glass and chair. If I sat there for two hours watching a movie on TV, I would soon feel muscle pain.”

Other symptoms emerged such as tingling feet and hands, migraines and mood swings. “Worst of all was a constant buzzing in my ear. There seemed to be a bare wire there, shorting my head, something like ‘tzuin, tzuin’.”

The actress thought it could be the aftermath of covid-19 or symptoms related to menopause, but she ended up falling in her living room and that triggered the alert.

“I decided to look for an otolaryngologist, thinking that the problem could be reduced to a question of balance. At first he said that everything was fine, but I insisted on doing an MRI. After the exam, I finally got the diagnosis: multiple sclerosis. “

“I lost ground at the same time. I didn’t even know what it was, it just hit the brain and that alone sounded terrifying,” he added.

Guta was afraid of being incapacitated. “But, with the help of the neurologist, I realized that the diagnosis is not a sentence and that although the disease has no cure, it has a cure.”

“The first step was to take a very expensive drug, which I can only get thanks to the Unified Health System, to which I am, among other things, very grateful”.

In addition to meds, she has undertaken yoga, improved her diet, and did brain exercises, ranging from reading to crosswords.

“More recently, I have included CBD oil in my treatment, a marijuana derivative which fortunately is legalized and has shown promising results. After diagnosis, I did the MRI again and the results were very good, indicating a stable condition. “.

He recently participated in one of the episodes of the series How to be cariocawhich will debut on Star + in 2023 and has made a montage of the play The marriage, by Nelson Rodrigues. Being an actress since the age of 13, she Guta said that she will continue to work and knows that she will have to live with multiple sclerosis.
