Influencer Dellano Cruz needed medical attention after eating pequi for the first time. A resident of Fortaleza, Delano didn’t know the delicacy had thorns and ended up getting several stuck in his tongue. The incident happened in the city of Caldas Novas, in the south of Goiás.

As a good content creator, Delano and a friend who accompanied him continued to publish everything that happened. The two were in a restaurant when the influencer noticed that something was wrong. They called a waiter who explained about the plugs.

“Should I remove it at home with tweezers?” Delano asked the employee, who replied that he would have to go to the hospital.

Shortly thereafter, Delano’s friend recorded him trying to remove the thorns while still in the restaurant mirror. “Know [pequi] I know, I didn’t know there were thorns in the bag”, the influencer still managed to joke about the situation.

Delano went to an emergency care unit (UPA), where a healthcare worker removed the plugs from his tongue.

After what happened, the influencer was grateful for the repercussions of the case. “We handled it in a very funny, very calm way. It was to inform people about pequi, this delicious delicacy that I ate every day I could, after I learned to eat it. Everything went well, everything went smoothly,” he said .
