Madonna revealed that she had been in an induced coma for 48 hours upon admission to hospital. In June, the singer was in intensive care treating a “serious bacterial infection” and she had to postpone her Celebration tour.

In a recent show, the singer provided new details about her. In the artist’s last performance in Brooklyn, United States, she said she was in a medically induced coma after fainting in the bathroom of her home.

“There are some very important people here tonight who were with me in the hospital. There is a very important woman here. I don’t even remember, I passed out on the bathroom floor and woke up in the ICU. I was in a medically induced coma for 48 hours. Saved my life, thank you Shawn,” Madonna said of her friend and assistant.

Then she repeated that she was in a coma, mentioning another presence on the show who helped her during her hospitalization. She said she could only hear the voice of her teacher of Kabbalah, a mystical branch of Judaism, saying, “Shake my hand.”

Finally, Madonna joked that she “almost had to die” to get her six children together in one room and reflected, “When I realized that, I thought ‘what if I leave my kids?’ It would destroy me.” . . I thought about how scared my mother must have been when she left and she had to leave all her children behind.”
