Johnny Depp has decided to focus on rock, while his film career remains on hiatus due to the domestic violence allegations he allegedly committed against Amber Heard. His victory in his ex-wife libel lawsuit earlier this month doesn’t seem to have changed that status. He has no new film projects coming up.
The actor has performed at a few Jeff Beck shows in the UK and will reunite with the guitarist for a tour of Europe until July 25, when he will perform in Paris.
The duo is collaborating on an album, titled “18”, which will be released on July 15th. Two songs from the partnership have already been revealed: “This Is A Song For Miss Hedy Lamarr” and a cover of John Lennon’s “Isolation”.
Later, Depp also plans to tour Europe with his band Hollywood Vampires, which also includes rock stars Alice Cooper, Joe Perry (Aerosmith) and Tommy Henriksen (Warlock).
The supergroup had already canceled a tour in March due to obstacles related to the pandemic. But Johnny Depp’s victory in the lawsuit against Amber Heard serves as an impetus for the resumption of plans. “The Hollywood Vampires are back,” proclaimed the band’s official Instagram profile with exclamations.
But the shows will take a while longer. Hollywood Vampires has scheduled shows in Germany and Luxembourg for June 2023 only.
