The journalist Evaristo Costa was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital in England, where he lives, after complications from Crohn’s disease, one of the most common forms of inflammatory bowel disease.

“And my ‘beloved’ Crohn’s disease brought me to the doctor again with some complications. And now back to the emergency room. They ask me if I have pain. Yes, I have severe abdominal pain,” the journalist said on Instagram .

The symptoms that brought Evaristo to the emergency room were diarrhea (due to the disease it may contain blood), fever and weight loss. In hospital he had to resort to morphine to relieve the pain.

“All this leads to weakness and fatigue. Low immunity leaves my body open to the entry of viruses and bacteria, as happened with my leg a month ago. If I don’t take care of myself, I can have complications such as anemia and serious infections,” he added. .

Evaristo is expected to be discharged from hospital this Saturday, the 13th, after tests have been carried out and his symptoms have disappeared. However, the doctors have not yet released him. “I’m still in the right place and in good hands,” he concluded.
