Artists retreat asks for help

OR Artists’ retreat It currently hosts 53 artists, including costume designers, actors, make-up artists and even circus professionals. President Stepan Nercessian recently asked the artistic class for help.
“I go after entrepreneurs, lawyers and politicians to ask them not to cut off the water. But the artists must be aware, they should always come here. When they come, they are very happy. I also went to a psychologist to understand why the artists they also mobilize to save the hamster and here we have to ask for the love of God. The psychologist replied that perhaps it is a residue of that past, of them not wanting to see themselves in this image of ‘look what will happen to you'”, he said Stepan, in a recent interview with O Globo.
Cida Cabral, administrator of the Chamber, also commented on the difficulties in maintaining the shelter.
“I have people here who contribute nothing. There are others who highlight the concept, who earn a minimum wage and who contribute R$200, R$100 a month. Just like there are family members who come together and contribute. We live only on donations and the sale of our thrift shop. Our survival depends on the help of some artists and the population. We really need help, whether in the financial aspect, in food, in medicine, in clothes. Everything it’s very welcome,” he said, in an interview with Extra.
