Singer Dani Li dies at the age of 35 after undergoing surgery

This Thursday 24th, the singer Dani Li died at the age of 35, in Curitiba, Paraná. The information was confirmed by the artist’s husband, Marcelo Mirato the portal G1.

Dani had been hospitalized for almost a week after undergoing surgery. The artist was born in Afuá, a municipality located on the island of Marajó, in Pará. The singer gained notoriety with the hit Eu Sou da Amazônia, a gift from the Amapá poet Osmar Júnior, who later became its producer.

“We had a great friendship. She was very hardworking, honest and humble. Today one of the greatest singers we saw born, who was once a friend, passed away,” said Osmar.

Marcelo Dias, municipal councilor of Macapá, also lamented the death of Dani Li: “The City Council of Macapá receives with deep regret the news of the death of singer Dani Li, which occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday 24 January, in Curitiba, Paraná. Known as the Muse of the Amazon, Dani Li was very young, enormously talented and a bright future ahead, but fate imposes a great loss on Amapá music”we read in the note.
