Lorena Torezan Viviani, a teenage influencer who lived in Santa Rita do Passa Quatro, inland from São Paulo, has died at the age of 13. The information was confirmed by her family on her social networks this Wednesday 7th and republished on the influencer’s official profile. Lorena had been battling cancer for about four years.

With 110,000 followers on Instagram, Lorena gained her place on the internet shortly after being diagnosed with the disease in 2020. Her videos sharing dances, recipes and makeup tips, as well as the story of her battle with cancer, have reached people all over the country. At the time, a community mobilization was promoted to expand their follower base on the digital platform.

Celebrities such as presenter Eliana showed solidarity and sent messages of support to the young woman, who was trying to realize her dream of growing up on social media.

The cancer diagnosis came on the eve of Lorena’s 10th birthday. She initially underwent chemotherapy sessions. Although there had been progress in treatment, another tumor was discovered shortly afterwards, located behind the vena cava, the main artery that brings blood back to the heart.

This new condition triggered several metastases, meaning that the cancer cells spread to different parts of the body, even reaching the young woman’s uterus.

Lorena was being treated at the Hospital do Amor in Barretos (SP), where she had access to cutting-edge treatments, with a drug developed in the United States, according to information from EPTV. The treatment was offered free of charge as part of a research program conducted by the hospital.

The teenager’s funeral wake will begin this Wednesday at 6pm in the Erneste Andreghetto Municipal Velório and the burial will take place on Thursday morning, 8am, in the Canto da Paz cemetery.
