Digital influencer Sabrina Almeida, known as Sabrina Boing Boing, was harassed in the Sao Paulo subway for wearing a topless carnival costume. This Friday, the 9th, she published a video of repudiation on social media.

Sabrina wore only a skirt and headdress, with makeup in reference to the indigenous people. She was in one of the public transport carriages when some passengers seemed uncomfortable with nudity in swimsuits.

In the video, he says he was walking a block away when he noticed some staring. “I was going down a block and I noticed people looking at me, it seemed like people were hostile to me being there. I felt very uncomfortable, so I decided to get out of the car,” she said.

Sabrina Boing Boing also said she didn’t understand why people felt uncomfortable with her costume. She claims to have heard some passengers say that her indigenous costume was inappropriate for Carnival.

On Instagram, followers pointed out that the costume would be inappropriate because it constituted cultural appropriation of indigenous people. “It’s something offensive, it’s not respectful towards them,” one follower said.
