The influencer said she talked to her daughters in a wig until she told them about the change. Fabiana’s husband, Bruno Levi D’Ancona, read to the children a book about a mother “who got sick and took medicine that made her hair fall out.” “Children need this more visual part to understand,” he said.

After Bruno commented on the topic with them, the influencer made a video call, still wearing the wig, in which he answered his daughters’ questions on the topic. “I explained that if the hair falls out, it means that the medicine is working, that it is making the mother stronger, and that is a very positive thing,” she added.

Fabiana then made another phone call in which she initially appeared wearing a scarf and then showed the children her shaved hair. She celebrated the girls’ reaction. “It was much lighter and calmer than I imagined. I thought it was important to prepare them in advance, so that they don’t get scared,” she commented.

Leukemia diagnosis

In January Fabiana shared online that she had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, a pathology she discovered when she went to the emergency room due to back pain and fever. “I am very confident, my family, my friends and especially my doctors have given me a lot of confidence,” she said.

She also told how she feels after the diagnosis: “Obviously there are moments when I feel more shocked. I still don’t really understand what’s happening. When I wake up here in the hospital, I remember that this is true. Because until then, sometimes I feel like I’m in a nightmare, I’ll wake up and it won’t be that.”

Excitedly, she also spoke about the weaning process of her son Luigi and the difficulty of being away from the twins Chiara and Sienna. During the first phase of treatment, visits must be monitored.

“What hurts me the most is having to stay away from my children, but I also know that it is a phase and that it will pass. My doctors also allow my children to visit me from time to time, taking all precautions, because I I will have to be more isolated,” he explained.
