It’s an opportunistic influence,’ explains Preta Gil after feeling ill and canceling the show

The singer canceled the show she would have had with Xamã on Tuesday 13th, following the doctor’s order

Preta Gil updated his social media last Wednesday, the 14th, explaining his state of health and the reason why he would not be able to perform in show to be held on Tuesday. The singer chose to follow her doctor’s advice after feeling unwell, but she reassured her fans in a post on her Instagram stories: “she IS an ‘opportunistic flu’.”

“I had a low immune system and an ‘opportunistic flu,'” said the singer, who continued: “On Monday I felt sick, I had some chills in the garage.”

She says she has seen an infectious disease specialist, been tested and reported to be doing better. Preta even jokes that she nicknamed the flu “Macetando, Nego Doce and Perna Bamba,” which she says are the songs of this carnival. The singer also said she suffered an injury to her eye, which occurred while she was removing a “small piece of make-up” and warned her followers: “You have to be careful.”

The show that the singer would perform on Tuesday, in Salvador, had the rapper Xamã as its protagonist. However, she also managed to perform on the other days at Camarote Expresso 2222 Daniela Mercurio.

Preta says she hasn’t had the flu for more than a year: “During the whole year I was treated for cancer, I never had the flu. Now it was inevitable, it happens,” she says, she concludes. The singer stopped treatment for bowel cancer, discovered in January 2023, at the end of the same year.
