Actor Ewen MacIntosh, who became famous for playing Keith Bishop in the series The Office, has died at the age of 50. The information was confirmed by the British press this Wednesday 21st. MacIntosh was considered an English “comedy icon”, thanks to the portrayal of him in the British version of the series.

In The Office, Ewen played an expressionless accountant. The comedy series also stars Ricky Gervais. Some of Keith’s most iconic scenes are when he says his greatest weakness is eczema during a team evaluation and the episode where he eats a Scotch egg.

The death was mourned by her co-star. “Extremely sad news. The hilarious and lovable Ewen Macintosh, known to many as ‘Big Keith’ from The Office, has died. A [ator] absolute original. RIP (RIP),” wrote Ricky Gervais.

According to British newspaper The Sun, MacIntosh went bankrupt in 2016, years after the series. He reportedly had difficulty finding a new job and faced health problems. In 2022, the actor was hospitalized. “Bad times for me. I’m scared, friends. Hold on,” he wrote at the time, without detailing his health condition.

Ewen’s cause of death was not reported.
