Canadian actor Kenneth Mitchell died last Saturday, the 24th, according to an announcement spread on his social networks. The actor became known for characters in films such as Star Trek: Discovery, Captain Marvel and the television series Jericho.

As the disease worsened, Mitchell began using a wheelchair to get around. The family emphasizes that the actor did not allow himself to be discouraged and that he remained positive.

“Ken was diligent and hardworking in everything he did, but as a father these characteristics found their greatest expression. He was extremely dedicated to being a positive and playful force in his children’s lives. Regardless of his later disabilities, Ken discovered a higher calling to be more fully himself with his children. Ken will forever be proud of what his children have become.”

In February 2020 he discovered he had the disease. Mitchell posted on Instagram that despite his challenges, he was confident in his recovery. “Please know that I am in good spirits and still like to laugh and be silly,” he wrote at the time.
