See the suite with a daily rate of R$20,000 where Madonna is supposed to stay in Rio

There was a rush to book rooms in luxury hotels for the date of the singer’s possible show on Copacabana beach

Nicknamed the “Little Princess of the Sea”, Copacabana is expected to welcome the queen of pop to the most glamorous address on the Rio coast. Websites specializing in Madonna’s life and career report that she will stay at the century-old Copacabana Palace to perform a free show on Brazil’s most famous beach on May 4.

A blog friend later tried to book a 5-star hotel and heard there were no more rooms available. He ended up closing rooms at the luxury Fairmont, 20 blocks away on the same Avenida Atlântica.

If the event is confirmed, Madonna is expected to occupy a Penthouse suite at the ‘Copa’, as the hotel is called by intimate guests. The best, with open sea views, costs R$ 20,450 for 1 night, including king size breakfast.

Located on the top floor, this suite occupies 104 m². It offers a semi-private pool – shared with guests of another suite of the same standard – and a private butler. The decor is extremely refined, without ostentation.

The Copacabana Palace has hosted Albert Einstein, Santos Dumont, Fred Astaire, the band U2, Walt Disney, Rita Hayworth, Brigitte Bardot, Queen Elizabeth II, then Prince (now King) Charles, Mick Jagger, Justin Bieber, among many others.

Madonna herself stayed at the hotel with her children in December 2008, when she was in Rio for a show on her ‘Sticky & Sweet’ tour. It was then that she met model Jesus Luz in a photo shoot for “W” magazine. The two dated for two years. The rest is history.
