Singer Ozzy Osbourne is recovering from an operation he underwent this month but remains active. This Monday, 27, the artist announced that his next album, Patient number 9will be released on September 9th.
The release is Ozzy’s 13th solo studio album and featured several notable collaborations. Names like Eric Clapton, Chad Smithby the band Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Taylor Hawkins, the Foo Fighters drummer who passed away this year, make instrument appearances on several tracks from the new album.
Guitarist Tony Iommi, co-founder of Black Sabbath, Ozzy’s former band, will also appear on the record. It is the first time that Tony has participated in a solo album by the singer.
The title track, released on Friday 24th, contained a clip directed by Todd McFarlane and with guitarist Jeff Beck. Additionally, Ozzy’s illustrations were animated to appear during the guitar solo.
