Juliana Paes spoke about the cancellation she suffered in 2021 for not taking a political position. She the artist revealed that she had to resort to drugs and therapies to overcome it.

The controversy has become a topic of discussion across the country in 2021 it started during the Covid-19 pandemic. The culmination of the crisis occurred when Juliana recorded and released a video advocating for non-polarization and the right to “not feel represented.”

The actress who recently participated in “Renascer” in the role of Jacutinga, would have given an answer to Samantha Schmützat that time, as he had sent her a message asking her to come out of the fence and take a political stand.

“Of course in the video I didn’t express myself as I would have liked, I was in the grip of emotion (…) My intention was to encourage a culture of peace. I couldn’t bear to see people fighting”, friend, fellow fighter. I am, by nature, a diplomatic person. My mistake was trying to talk about debate and unity at that moment,” she told O Globo newspaper.

Juliana said she had never made any kind of biased gesture towards anyone. At the time, the celebrity was labeled “exempt.”

“During my public life I have not raised flags here or there. I did not vote for Bolsonaro. I do not feel capable of understanding the complexity of these partisan political environments and I have little faith. Politics, for me, is concretely realized , in real life. I silently contribute to countless social projects. I fulfill this role better by acting on other fronts,” he said.

”I became the perfect target. For a long time I was afraid to open my cell phone. I ended up outsourcing my social media to stay away from comments. I was struck by the places they put me… They added labels to me that never described me, they called me ‘Bolsominion,'” she revealed.

The consequences were serious for the actress, who ended up depressed due to all those hateful messages. She said she had to take medications and a lot of therapy to get through it all.

“It took me a while to realize that I was depressed, I had never felt anything like that. But I started having thoughts that weren’t about life, like ‘what are we living for?’, ‘why are we here?’” why are you so important to me?” played here? I didn’t want to come.” She then sought psychiatric help. “I took antidepressants for a while and then stopped. I started therapy, which I had avoided my whole life, and immersed myself in physical training,” she said.

“In sessions with the therapist, he felt that he had suffered a ‘public beating.’ “This is trauma. And once you go through it, you never come out the same person again. We become stronger. Unanimity does not exist. Not everyone will think I’m cute, and that’s okay.”
