Model Ireland Baldwin, daughter of actors Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, shared a video on TikTok of being raped as a teenager and having an abortion after an unwanted pregnancy.
“I was completely unconscious when the sexual assault happened. It changed the course of my life,” he said, in an initiative to protest the US Supreme Court, which allowed conservative states to suspend the right to ‘abortion.
He said it took some time to tell his family what happened. But as a result of the violence, he began to indulge in alcohol and drugs, became involved in abusive relationships and “lost control” of his life.
The model, currently 26, assumed she would have an abortion (or donate the baby like Klara Castanho) if she got pregnant at the time. “It would have been traumatic to raise a child with everything she went through,” she revealed.
Despite this, she really got pregnant later and explained the reason that made her opt for the abortion. “I know what it’s like to be born into a relationship where your parents hate each other,” she said.
