The former SBT presenter dies aged 45 four months after being fired


Rivadro França was one of the most famous and respected chefs in the Northeast and won a legion of fans on TV

“Recife is in mourning,” wrote a follower of Rivadro França’s Instagram profile. The presenter and chef was found dead in his home, in the municipality of Paulista, in the metropolitan region of Pernambuco. He was married and leaves two children.

According to local press, the body showed no signs of violence and there were no signs of forced entry into the property. The investigation continues.

Rivandro, who would have turned 46 in April, rose to fame as a presenter on Rádio Jornal and SBT affiliate TV Jornal. Until November he hosted the program ‘Sabor da Gente’. I was responsible for the Cozinhando Escondidinho restaurant in Riva.




Son of natives of Paraiba, the communicator worked as a nurse for twenty years before entering gastronomy school. His passion for food was born from observing the work of his father, who was a chef.

At first he sold chocolates to colleagues and teachers on campus, on the streets and in hospitals. Shortly after opening his restaurant, Rivadro França won the title of “Revolutionary Chef”.

His success as a guest on television programs led to him being invited as a presenter. His laid-back style has led the SBT affiliate to skyrocket in the audience rankings. Disappointed by the public, the dismissal was part of a cut that affected other TV Jornal professionals.
