Singer Anna Clara29 years old, he released the song last week You, me and Godin collaboration with Beautiful, 49, who he considers his godfather in the music industry. In an interview with Earth, Ana Clara gave more details about her relationship with Belo and revealed a problem she faces as a singer: being a woman in the pagoda. She highlighted the importance of representation in gender and narrated episodes that she went through – and still goes through – due to sexism.

“I feel like I always have to prove myself, prove that I’m good enough, that I can do it, that there’s room for me in the market,” she reveals.

tell me “You, Me and God”. How did the project come into your hands?

We were looking for a song to record and we received 170 more. My team and I listened to them one by one and fell in love with them You, me and God. We knew it was her!

And what about registration, was it quick? How long did it take to complete the project?

From the choice of the song, in October, to the musical production, to the production of the video and all the implications implicit in the project, it took more or less 6 months.

Belo is his godfather in music. What lessons did you learn from living with him?

Belo is a brilliant and very generous godfather. Living and sharing this music with him makes me grow a lot as a singer. We had fun and supported each other so much.

Including you, we have some pagodeiras that are gaining prominence in the industry, but it is still a male-dominated genre. How do you see this discrepancy?

It is a place that we women are still, little by little, trying to conquer. I feel that there is resistance towards women in pagoda, but, little by little, I hope, together with other singers, to break this barrier.

Have you ever experienced difficulties as a woman in the pagoda?

Yes and unfortunately it is constant. It’s a very sexist environment and I feel like I always need to prove myself. Prove that I’m good enough, that I can do it, that there’s room for me in the market.

What does participating in the Soweto 30 Tour mean to you?

A huge professional achievement. I am very happy and excited about the tour and the privilege of doing my job together with such a special team.

Performing on tour comes with a responsibility. What is your body and voice care routine like, so you don’t miss it?

I try to maintain a healthy routine, eat well and move my body frequently. Voice care is always part of my routine. I do strengthening exercises, which are very practical and I have the support of professionals who help me in this process.

There’s music, tours… What else is coming in 2024?

We are working on a lot of new things this year. There are other releases in the works, we aim to work on an audiovisual project and want to take ours forward Batucada by Ana Clara in multiple places in Brazil.

Who is the singer Ana Clara?

Ana Clara was born in Joinville, Santa Catarina, in 1995 and, despite being only 29 years old, she began her career as a teenager, at 14 years old. She usually performs in samba clubs, where she started collecting friends and partners. On one occasion she also sang alongside Pericles.

Because she insisted, she was invited to participate in some projects, such as DVD You, me and Sambawith Martinho da VilaTeresa Cristina, Xande de Pilares and Zeca Pagodinho. He has also opened tours for big names, such as Alexandre Pires, Luiz Carlos and Belo.
