Having disappeared from the spotlight, Will Smith surprises when he takes the stage at a music festival

The Hollywood star has stayed away from the media since the Oscar slap

Last weekend, Will Smith appeared during J. Balvin’s performance at the Coachella Festival in the United States. In fact, this was the actor’s first musical performance since his controversial smackdown at the 2022 Oscars.

On the occasion, Will Smith sang and danced to ‘Men in Black’, one of his greatest hits and a success of ‘MIB – Men in Black’ (1997), one of the actor’s greatest works. The performance was inspired by the film’s alien theme and Will wore the costume from the film.

This wasn’t Will Smith’s first time at Coachella. This is because the actor had already performed at the festival together with his son Jaden Smith in 2019. This time in the audience were the couple’s son and Jada Smith, the star’s wife.

In fact, it is worth remembering that in 2022 Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars. This is because the comedian joked about the baldness of Jada Smith, who suffers from alopecia. For this reason, the actor resigned from his position as a member of the Hollywood Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which organizes the Oscars.

He is also still banned from attending any events organized by the Academy for 10 years. And it doesn’t end there: the effects of the slap went beyond the star’s career. This is because the NGO “Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation” is on the verge of bankruptcy due to lack of sponsors.
