Chris Flores leaves SBT after seven years: “The gossip no longer made sense”

Journalist Chris Flores said goodbye to SBT this Friday (4/19), after seven years at home. By mutual agreement with the broadcaster, the presenter decided to leave “Fofocalizando”, a program that she had hosted since 2020, and seek new professional challenges.

He hasn’t been seen on screen for some time. Chris Flores left “Fofocalizando” in November last year, deciding not to return to the attraction. The decision was motivated by fatigue from the routine of working in celebrity gossip, which he had been doing nearly 30 years into his career. The presenter, recently graduated in History, is now dedicating herself to her master’s degree at PUC-SP and to her personal projects.

Departure by mutual agreement with SBT

Over the past six months, Chris Flores has been approached to join new programs on SBT, such as “Chega Mais,” but he has turned down the offers. The presenter states that she does not see herself in any of the projects and that starting in agreement with the broadcaster was the best solution for both parties. “Now SBT is free and so am I,” she told Notícias da TV.

“At the end of last year I decided that I didn’t want to do ‘Fofocalizando’ because I no longer found myself in the content,” he explained. “The gossip no longer made sense, I no longer wanted to make a program to talk about the lives of others, of celebrities. I have already gone through that phase and I consider it a mission accomplished”, she added.

Despite the farewell, Chris Flores has fond memories of SBT. The presenter thanked the television station for welcoming her with open arms and stressed that she gave it her all during the seven years she worked there. “It’s a cycle that ends,” she says.

Open to new proposals

At the moment Chris Flores is dedicated to his social networks, his master’s degree in History and the commercial projects undertaken with clients outside of SBT. The presenter declares herself open to new proposals in the field of communication and she claims to be in a moment of personal and professional restructuring.

Chris Flores is leaving SBT, but the door for a future return remains open. The presenter does not exclude the possibility of returning to the network with a new project, if the opportunity arises in the future.
