The heir Chiquinho Scarpa went viral this week with a controversial statement. In a podcast hosted by the comedian Ceará, he said, emphatically, that he doesn’t like the poor. The song circulating on social media begins with Chiquinho saying he has never been to the wake of a poor person, to which Ceará says: “I don’t like wakes, I don’t even want to go to mine.” To the comedian’s surprise, Chiquinho’s problem was the people who would be present at that moment. “I don’t like poor people. Funerals are fine,” he said.

Ceará tries to reduce the weight of the words and says that he doesn’t like poverty. “Because no one chooses to be poor,” the comedian added.

But Chiquinho continues: “The poor always have something to ask for. If you ask. The worst thing for the poor is for you to come and tell them: ‘How are you?’ Then you’re done.
