And the news doesn’t end here: the film will star Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton. Angelina Jolie’s ex-husband will play Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 driver who comes out of retirement to become a mentor to a young driver.
Still haunted by a terrible accident that left him off the track, Sonny must face his demons to lead the Apex Grand Prix team to success. The film was recorded during the Grand Prix weekends, when the team competed against the giants of the sport.
The recordings, in fact, also took place on the Silverstone circuit in England. The production had its own garage and a stand in the low wall. Just like the real Formula 1 teams, who allowed access for filming.
Additionally, Damson Idris (“Snowfall”), Kerry Condon (“The Banshees of Inisherin”), Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men”) and Sarah Niles (“Ted Lasso”) round out the cast.
