Not a prince, but a producer: All about Trevor Engelson, Meghan Markle’s first husband

By profession, Megan’s first husband is a television and film producer. His first post-graduate job was producing The Deep Blue Sea (1999). Then he appeared in the credits of many films: from the romantic comedy “License to Marry” to the comedy with Bradley Cooper and Sandra Bullock “All About Steve” and the drama “Remember Me” by Robert Pattinson. Among the latest works – the series “Snowfall” and a new version of the film “Deadly Attraction”.

In addition to producing, Engelson is involved in talent scouting and in 2012 opened his own company Underground and a selection agency for actors, screenwriters and directors. Yes, so he and Megan were already married.

Trevor and Megan met in 2004 and dated for seven years before their wedding, which took place on September 10, 2011, six of them were living together. By the way, with Harry this period was reduced to two years, including six months of being engaged.

Megan’s first wedding, while not royal, was truly royal! The newlyweds and guests, who numbered more than a hundred, enjoyed themselves for four days in Jamaica, the ceremony itself took place on the third. There was plenty of entertainment on offer for guests – from racing cars to boozy board games…and Megan and Trevor signed on within 15 minutes.

In the year of the wedding, an event occurred which, according to many, led to a breakup: Meghan Markle received one of the main roles in the television series Suits. While she dated Trevor, roles in various movies and TV series were small, although he helped her build a career. And now she spent a lot of time on the set and rarely saw her husband. He lived in Los Angeles, she was filming in Toronto – in another country and four hours away. These are difficult circumstances to start a family life.

A source close to the couple told The Sun: “Trevor was very upset. She didn’t have time for him. Then she just broke his heart, he still loves her and was devastated by the news of her relationship with Harry.

The marriage lasted less than two years: in May 2013 they broke up, and in August they divorced. Plus, Megan sent her wedding and engagement rings in the mail!

Friends of the couple said Engelson was ready to move to Toronto with his wife, but she asked him not to.

It is also believed that Megan’s head rose to fame after starring in a series of audiences and simply left a relationship that no longer suited her. Trevor himself said the same when he broke his silence about what happened. It was rumored that she had been unfaithful to her husband, but this has not been confirmed.

Trevor Engelson partially supported his ex-wife until mid-2016 – this was the condition of the divorce. Then she refused his money – and it soon became clear that she was dating Prince Harry.

Trevor wasn’t alone long after that. In 2017, he started dating nutritionist Tracy Curland, daughter of American millionaire Stanford Curland. In May 2018, shortly after Meghan’s second wedding, Tracy and Trevor got engaged, and on May 11, 2019, they had a modest beach wedding in California.

After breaking up with Megan, Engelson wanted to do a miniseries about the life of a man whose ex-wife married the prince. But the project was asked to be postponed first until Megan and Harry’s wedding and then frozen completely. Rumor has it that Trevor has been offered to write a book about the relationship with Megan, but it’s not yet known if it will be published.
