Admire the pool of Roberto Carlos’ triplex with a postcard view of Rio

The singer, who loves a sober lifestyle, rarely leaves the property where he has lived for over 40 years.

Despite being Brazil’s most popular music artist, Roberto Carlos manages to hide a significant amount of intimacy. No journalist, for example, has discovered the identity of his new girlfriend, his first official one since the death of his third wife, Maria Rita, in 1999.

The singer also keeps the triplex where he has lived since 1980 on Avenida Portugal, in Urca, a bucolic neighborhood south of Rio. He has never opened his doors to celebrity magazines nor does he use the place for television recordings. He receives the press at his production house, in a villa on a nearby street.

In the apartment, the ‘king’ of romance has a swimming pool surrounded by a wooden terrace and plants. From there you can see Guanabara Bay, Botafogo Beach, Aterro do Flamengo and Christ the Redeemer. Behind the building are Morro da Urca and Morro do Pão de Açúcar, connected by the famous cable car.

Roberto Carlos’ house is a tourist attraction: fans go there to take pictures of the facade. They look up in the hope of seeing him on the balcony, which usually only happens on April 19, his birthday, when he appears to greet the fans on duty who sing “Happy Birthday.”

The relaxation area in the singer's apartment is small, but enough to relax with a privileged view of Rio

The Roberto Carlos building is located in front of the Morro da Urca, where one of the stations of the Pão de Açúcar cable car is located.

Fans flock to the building hoping to see their idol, who rarely appears on the terrace.
