Filipe Ret and MC Cabelinho are pursued by drug traffickers; understanding the case

The trafficker demands compensation of R$ 500 for moral damages to the MCs

Alexandre de Jesus Carlos, known as Choque or 220, arrested for drug trafficking, has opened a case against MC Cabelinho, Filipe Ret and MC Maneirinho. This is because, according to the prisoner, the rappers used his audio in a song without authorization.

Therefore, with the trial underway, Choque is asking for R$ 500,000 in moral damages from the MCs and is asking for his name to be included in the copyright of the song. In fact, the song in question is “7 Meiota”, published by the trio of rappers in 2022.

Although Filipe Ret is the owner of the music, he is exempt from paying compensation. This is because he has already made a financial agreement with the drug dealer.

“7 Meiota”, a song by Filipe Ret, MC Cabelinho and MC Maneirinho, portrays the violent reality of Rio de Janeiro’s communities. In fact, the title refers to a slang term for a 7.65 caliber pistol, common in Rio’s favelas.
