Gilberto Gil posts video of himself playing guitar for Preta Gil: ‘Music has always been a refuge’; Appearance

Gilberto Gil shared a video, this Saturday morning, 31 years old, while playing the guitar for his daughter, Preta GilThe 50-year-old singer recently announced that she received a new diagnosis while resuming cancer treatment: cancer was detected in two lymph nodes, in the peritoneum (with metastases) and in the ureter (with a nodule).

In the post on the 82-year-old artist’s profile, Gil appears sitting on the edge of a bed, playing the guitar and whistling. Preta, in another corner of the room, rests on an armchair while recording his father with his cell phone.

“Music has always been a refuge and, with it, Gil continues to strengthen the chain of love and strength for Preta Gil. Time is king and faith usually doesn’t ‘faiá'”, reads the caption of the post, made together with Flora Gil, the musician’s wife.

Gil was important during Preta’s treatment. Participate in the program Conversation with Bial Last Tuesday, 27, the TV Globo host read an excerpt from the artist’s autobiography, Preta Gil: The First 50in which he recalls a video conversation he had with Gil while he was in intensive care.

The singer said, “Daughter, nature is wise. We are part of it. We return to it. This is part of life.” Preta Gil laughed and recalled another part of her father’s speech: “If it’s very difficult for you, and if your time has come, accept it.”

The show was recorded before the singer’s new hospitalization. “I’m another Black in 2024. Full of desire to live, with so much energy, with so much love,” the artist said, after revealing the new diagnosis.
