Change of name, HIV, the drama of birth: the truth and the myths about Zahara Jolie-Pitt

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s eldest daughter, beauty Zahara Jolie-Pitt, is 17. We tell the facts and debunk the myths about his life.

In July 2005, six months after her birth, a baby named Zahara found new parents – the famous Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Now, on January 8, the girl celebrated her next birthday with her family. There have always been a lot of rumors around Zahara Jolie-Pitt. We determine what is true and what is fiction.

Zakhara is HIV positive

It’s a myth. After Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adopted Zahara, the media started collecting information. Thus, there were reports that the orphanage staff tried to dissuade Jolie from taking the child: according to the documents, the girl’s parents died of AIDS.

This information turned out to be a hoax. After the examination, it was learned that Zakhara was not infected with the virus and that her own mother was in fact alive and well. Perhaps Zakhara’s biological parents themselves started such a rumor, because they did not want to let the girl go to a completely different world, another culture, another continent.

Angelina and Brad have changed their adopted daughter’s name

And here. At birth, the biological mother named the daughter Emasrech (or Emsrach). Already after the adoption, Angelina and Brad changed the name of the baby to a more harmonious one – Zahara Marley. Zahara Marley Jolie Pitt. Beautiful ?

Jolie forcibly took Zahara away from her mother

It’s a myth. In 2017, Zahara’s birth mother came forward, pleading through the media, “Please just let me talk to my daughter.” Then the press headlined “Stolen life”, “21st century slavery”, “Children for sale”: Angelina was called a child kidnapper.

Zahara’s birth mother accused Ethiopian officials of fraud and Jolie of forgery. However, the lawyers proved that the adoption was completely legal, since all the girl’s relatives officially refused custody.

Zahara was born as a result of rape

Alas, it is the bitter truth. Zahara has a difficult birth story. In 2004, an 18-year-old girl from a poor Ethiopian village named Mantewab was visiting her grandmother. At night, a man came into the house, raped the girl, and soon after she realized that she was pregnant (to date, Zakhara is her first and only child). A beggar, Mantewab knew she would never raise a child.

The situation was aggravated by the physical health of the girl: she was thin and sickly, and the pregnancy completely exhausted her. The fact that Mantewab bore the fruit of rape under her heart also hurt her because now, as a girl without honor, no man will marry her. And then she fled to the nearby town of Khosayn.

On January 8, 2005, Mantewab gave birth to a daughter, when she herself was already on the verge of nervous and physical exhaustion. She was seriously ill and could not take care of her daughter. “My mother and my uncle offered to give her up for adoption. I was so weak that I accepted. If I had a chance to fix everything, I would definitely,” Zakhara’s birth mother admitted years later. So, shortly after birth, the baby entered the baby’s house. And Angelina first met the baby when she was 6 months old, while traveling in Ethiopia on a UN humanitarian mission. I fell in love with these eyes and decided to adopt it.

The Ethiopian beauty grew up as a strong and calm girl. Over the years, Zakhara has flourished: today she is a real lady, feminine, graceful, elegant. She tries herself in different fields: creation of jewelry, dubbing, filming. Zahara should have a great future. And we share this opinion. And you?
