Host Marcos Mion shared on social media his surprise at his daughter Donatella’s, 16, reaction when he dropped her off at a school in New York where she’s starting an exchange program. According to him, the teenager didn’t even look back and saying goodbye was harder for him than it was for her.

“It’s very difficult… My princess (she will always be) didn’t even look back! Not even a glance to make sure I was there! She hugged me tightly and said ‘you have to go now, daddy’. With these words my brain processed: ‘She’s grown up. Now she has her life.’ ”, Mion reported.
The presenter also commented that when he realized that his daughter was following her path to independence, he was moved and soon called his wife, Suzana Gullo, with whom he shared this moment. “This realization took me like a shiver, but it moved me a lot. I called Nena and told her: ‘We did our job! She is ready! You can be proud, we are a great couple’. So proud,” he added.
Mion also revealed that he allowed Donatella to study abroad only after reading a letter she had written, in which she explained why she wanted this experience so much, just like he had done in the past.
“It’s a rite of passage for the whole family. Nena and I are feeling sensations that we didn’t imagine would come so soon and Doninha the same! But it’s her will. She wrote me an extremely mature and conscious letter to convince me, saying that I have lived my experiences and that she wants to live hers and one that she wanted to have like me was high school life in the United States. How can I take that away from her? And here begins a new moment for Mionzada. My daughter! I’m always here”, she concluded.
