With 2 programs and in discussion, Tramontina shows that there is a happy career outside of Globo

With firmness and charisma, Carlos Tramontina led the debate between the candidates for mayor of São Paulo on the YouTube channel Flow. He opted for an informal look: no tie and a light jacket.

Using colloquial language, the journalist imposed order from the beginning. He made it clear that he would not tolerate disrespectful behavior from the six participants in the meeting. He was forceful in interrupting, scolding and asking Pablo Marçal to withdraw for “low-level” statements at the time of the closing remarks.

After the punishment there was a physical attack against the merchant of the mayor Ricardo Nunes. The scene was occupied by the team members of all the candidates and the production technicians. The broadcast was interrupted. A few minutes later, the host reappeared to regret the confusion and say goodbye.

Tramontina was a good choice for the role of mediator. His experience and authority made the difference in the face of serious unforeseen events in the final minutes. Supported by the rules, he was correct in all his actions.

At Flow he directs the programs ‘Tramonta News’ and ‘Portas Abertas’. It is interesting to see a journalist of almost 70 years of age succeed on a channel aimed at a predominantly young audience.

Carlos Tramontina left Globo in 2022, of his own accord, after 43 years at the station. He went from intern to occasional presenter of “Jornal Nacional”. He became one of the most famous and respected presenters in the country. In 2019, he became a meme when he said “six and bus” after confusing the time with an article about transportation.

For most of the veterans who left Globo journalism – fired or on their own – their careers were sadly over. Tramontina has managed to reinvent herself on the Internet, where she also has a personal channel.
