Grupo Globo has entered into a million dollar deal with Paramount Global to broadcast Pantanal throughout South America.
The news reached the media in a statement by Francisco Espinoza, Director of Programming of Chilevision. In an interview with the Chilean press on Wednesday (13/7), he revealed: “We have acquired the rights to this television series, which is an indisputable success in Brazil, and now we are seeing what the plan will be for broadcasting on each of the its channels. display “.
Each market will have a different way of showing the soap opera. In Chile and Argentina, “Pantanal” will be broadcast on the Chilevisión and Telefé channels, open television stations owned by Paramount. In the rest of the continent, the release will be streamed on Paramount +.
Espinoza also told the Chilean press that the deal is the first of many, as Paramount wants to buy more soap operas from Globo to air on the rest of the continent.
According to Notícias da TV, the contract is estimated at $ 10 million (R $ 54.7 million) and allows Paramount to roll out the attraction to other countries on the continent by 2025.
The agreement does not affect the Brazilian market, where the plot is made available by the Globo network and streamed by Globoplay.
In addition to this contract, Globo plans to close new international sales at the Pantanal this year. Four television networks in Europe were already talking to Globo’s acquisition area, including SIC, a Portuguese broadcaster that already broadcasts Brazilian soap operas.
