Liam Payne (1993-2024), former member of One Direction, fell from a height of between 13 and 14 meters before dying on the night of Wednesday the 16th, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This was revealed by the director of the Emergency Medical Assistance System (Same) – similar to the Brazilian Samu -, Alberto Crescenti.

The musician fell from the third floor of the hotel where he was staying and was found in the internal courtyard of the establishment. Police were called after the venue manager called 911 to report that one of the guests was “aggressive and may be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.”

The employee reportedly heard a loud noise in the interior courtyard. Shortly after, Same confirmed Liam’s death. According to the newspaper The NationCrescenti specified that the fall could have been up to 14 meters and that the singer suffered “very serious injuries incompatible with life”.

“At 5.04pm, through 911, an integrated public security system, we were alerted to a person who was in an internal courtyard of the Casa Sur hotel administration. At 5.11pm, a local Same team arrived and confirmed the man dead. We later found out that he was a singer in a music group. Unfortunately, due to the fall he suffered injuries incompatible with life, which is why we had to declare his death. There was no possibility of resuscitation,” he told TN.

The director of SAME informed that it is necessary to wait for the autopsy, but that “from what the team saw, it seems he had a fracture at the base of the skull, a very serious injury”.

After Liam’s death, alleged images of the room he was staying in began circulating on social media. In the images, also replicated by the Argentine press, it is possible to identify a broken television and numerous packages that refer to drug use.
