Argentine police have arrested three people suspected of involvement in the death of former One Direction member Liam Payne, who died on October 16, aged 31. Payne fell from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The detainees are accused of “abandonment of a person resulting in death” and “supplying and aiding and abetting narcotics”, according to prosecutor Andres Esteban Madrea.

According to the news channel News from heaventhose arrested include the singer’s partner during his stay in Argentina and a hotel employee. The third is suspected of drug dealing.

A toxicology test performed after Payne’s death revealed the presence of cocaine, crack and other substances in his system.

The investigation involved the analysis of over 800 hours of security camera recordings, as well as the contents of the artist’s cell phone.

During the search of the hotel room, drugs such as clonazepam, used to treat epilepsy and anxiety disorders, as well as alcoholic drinks were found.
