The shepherd’s farm Valdemiro Santiagolocated in Santa Isabel, Greater São Paulo, was invaded this Friday (6) by six armed men. According to information from G1, the criminals aimed to kidnap the religious leader’s daughter, but the attempt was thwarted. Three suspects have been arrested so far, including an employee of the family who collaborated in the crime.

The alarm was raised around 10.30 am at the Military Police Operations Center (Copom), when a possible invasion of the property was reported. According to the investigation, after the attack the suspects fled into the woods, while the employee was captured with the items stolen from the farm. Suitcases ready for escape were found at his residence, reinforcing his participation in the program.

THE SHEPHERD PEACED HIS FAITHFUL

Not even at the time of the attack Valdemiro nor his daughter were present on the farm. They had planned to meet the shepherds there and would arrive later. In an interview on the program It’s timeof the SBT, the parish priest reassured the faithful by stating: “I am well, as are my wife, my grandchildren and my children. My farm is simple. I am at peace, thank God.”
