Preta Gil: the singer announces his departure from intensive care weeks after a surgery that lasted more than 20 hours

Moments before New Year’s Eve, the singer Preta Gil announced his departure from the intensive care unit of Sírio Libanês Hospital, in São Paulo, where he was recovering from surgery to remove tumors. To be published in InstagramPreta shared a photo with his family still in the hospital to update his followers.

“Loves, at the end of the year, I come to share the news that I have left intensive care! My heart is full of joy to have such special people by my side, who fill me with love every day and make me want to live more every day”, reads the post.

Preta underwent surgery that lasted more than 20 hours on December 19.

In the same post the singer also thanked her friend Ivete Sangalo for honoring her during the Virada Show in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. “I love you and I love all of you who send me positive energy every day!”, he added.

Preta Gil discovered bowel cancer in early 2023. In addition to the surgery performed in December, the singer also underwent radiotherapy sessions and a total abdominal hysterectomy, a procedure that involves the removal of the uterus.
