Brazil inside Oscars 2025! This Thursday (23), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the 97th Oscars ceremony, which will take place on March 2. And Brazil was nominated in three of the work award’s main categories “I’m still here”directed by Walter Salles. Oh!

In which categories is the film competing?

The film, which premieres on November 7, 2024, stars Fernanda Torres AND Selton Mellowas nominated in three categories: Best film, Best international film AND Best Actresswith the appointment of Fernanda Torres.

Brazil has already been nominated for an Oscar in 13 editions, including national films and co-productions with other countries, but has never won the statuette. Fernanda Torres, who was the big winner of the Golden Globes 2025repeats his mother’s feat. In 1999, Fernanda Montenegro was appointed to Oscar AS Best Actress In “Central Brazil”.
