In the remake of the soap opera “Vale Tudo”, the character Heleninha Roitman, played by Paolla Oliveira, is present again in the TV drama of the TV Globo, now with a contemporary approach to mental health and drug addiction. Daughter of Odete Roitman, lived by Debora Bloch, Heleninha is represented as a talented plastic artist, but who lives with a constant fight against alcoholism.
The visual construction of the character also attracted attention. The works that make up Helenha’s study in fiction are actually signed by the Uruguayan artist Stella Margarita, who died two years ago. According to Gshow, Margarita has developed an emotionally intense work, represented in series such as “Hugs” and “Family album”, whose reproductions have been used in the scenarios of the soap opera.

In fact, the choice of paintings caused confusion among the members of the artist’s family. Matias Margarita, son of the painter, expressed gratitude in social networks for the recognition of the mother’s work. “We are very moved by this artistic choice. Thanks for the affection and recognition of the force of Stella Margarita, who will now be seen on other screens,” he said. Paolla Oliveira also publicly commented on the tribute: “What honor to be among the works of this great artist”.
In the meantime, the plot of the soap opera has advanced for more intense moments. In the recent chapters, Heleninha starred in a dramatic sequence in front of Ivan (Renato Gós), her husband, who found monitored by his wife after having had a “hacking” mobile phone. The revelation led to a disagreement between the couple, culminating in Ivan’s departure from his father’s home.
The marital crisis had direct reflections in the health of the character. Destabilized, Heleninha had a relapse in alcoholism. The scene plays the moment when Ivan returns home and finds his wife completely drunk. “I don’t believe it, Heleninha! Did you drink?” Asks incredulously. Provocative, the painter replies: “Look, my husband has decided to go home and give the air of her grace !? as chic!”. The situation intensifies when Ivan decides to get away again: “You can’t … I can’t!
The narration explicitly faced the difficulties of living with a chronic disease such as alcoholism, without romanticizing or alleviating the resulting conflicts. Therefore, the plot also warns the public of the importance of seeking help for experts through services such as psychosocial assistance centers (CAP) and basic health units.
With a gender direction focused on the family drama, “Vale Tudo” uses a refined aesthetics and consistent performances to reconstruct, from a new perspective, a classic of Brazilian television.
